Magical Concert Ticket
Last night I was talking to a best friend from the college years who has always only been a phone call away. Though in some ways we are very different, we have always shared common interests such as music. My friend had a part time job that yielded free concert tickets and being best buddies I was fortunate to see many great performances. Fun memories, like the time we saw just a bit too much Ted in a Ted Nugent concert. A time when maybe front row isn't so great.
So Peggy asked if we could be granted the "magical concert ticket" who would I like to see perform one more time. So I came up with a list of three, in no particular order
*Freddy Fender
*Stevie Ray Vaughan
*Marvin Gaye
Both of us had the same three as they were probably the three most memorable concerts ever. But to pick just one. Oh to see Marvin Gaye one more time but the talent of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
If we could only get the one performance, it would have to be this - Mary had a little lamb at it's finest.
Mine would be Marvin Gaye, but this Stevie song is sooo cool!

hey patty...i just had to comment on this one. i love stevie ray and although i know he cannot be replaced...check out vince esquire, you may already know of him...he's a young kid from maui, which is where i saw him for the first time. couldn't believe my ears. he came over to south by southwest a couple of years ago, hooked up with willie and is now on the mainland alot. we sat and talked with his parents that night, (yes they had to be with him...he was only 17,not allowed in the bar!) and his story is incredible. really! if you've already had the pure pleasure...pass him along. i thought it was stevie ray incarnate that night.

"Life By The Drop" is my all-time favorite song. *sighs* What a great show Stevie Ray must've had...

A magical concert ticket would be the best! It would be fun to see who others would want to see. If I had to pick someone to see again I would say John Legend and Sting. If I could pick someone I would have loved to see but never did I would pick my ulimate man (other then my hubby!) Frank Sinatra!

Yay! SRV is the king of blues! (in my opinion anyway) I also enjoy Kenny Wayne Shepard, who has a similar style (his early stuff, anyway), and a band called Indigenous. I also saw Ted Nugent back in something like, oh, 1979, I think? They played with Leonard Skynard, so I know it was before "the crash".

Freddie Fender! My college roomie and I loved him. He had that hit in 1977 but now I can't remember the name of it. This really brings back some good memories. Thanks.
