Now that I am back from a hectic crazy trip last week, I will have more time to work on the gypsy wagon.
Since I love before and after pictures, I will insert a few "befores" every so often.
The reading nook before. Complete with the impossibly uncomfortable love seat and check out those horrid valances and curtains.
The valances boxes only had one purpose and that was to provide a place for the cats to practice their circus act.
The new improved reading nook in the gypsy wagon. A work in progress with a space that is actually comfortable. I used the wire curtain system from IKEA and I love it. I like to toss the wool shawl over the end of the curtain rod making it handy for cooler winter nights.
The plan is for an overload of layered patterns, colors and textiles.
A different look with the curtains open. The gypsy wagon will be an on going project, something like living in a journal. A cocoon of paper, paint, stencil and fabric.
A close up of the wall. I will be sharing more pictures as I continue to make progress.
Now I wonder if the gypsy wagon is slowly turning into a traveling visual journal on wheels. I am thinking of adding little bits and notes about the places we travel, when we make camp and tales from along the road.
I only wished I had started the floor first. But now that I have figured out how to manage the slide part, I will tackle that project this spring. It will involve a laminate floor and a Persian rug attached on the slide part. If only I had thought of that a few months ago.
did you notice the complete change up with the TV, more on that later
here's a side by side so you don't have to scroll all the way back up

Patty, I liked very much the way you changed your "reading nook", great job!

This is awesome! I would have loved to have done that with our former coach but my DH would have had a stroke...although I am sure that he would have come to love it. Can't wait to watch more of this transformation...

Like living in a journal - yes, you say it nice! Wonderful design on your curtains and reading-corner. LOVE all the different patterns and fabric!!!I have the same Ikea curtain wire in my home, I wouldn't want anything else anymore.

OMG, Patty! This is adorable. What a cozy and inviting corner you have created. I also like the idea of a "living journal", and I hope you continue to show us before and after photos as you proceed. I wonder where you get your fantastic fabriC?
Please do show us your travels! How fun!

I have been enjoying your blog so much! I love your caravan...it's facinating to me and giving me ideas. I have a dream of living in a place where I will have to live in a tiny space due to the expense of the area. Since I'll soon be newly single, I will have the freedom, but not much cash...so must be creative!
