I am pleased with how the "Fun with Fabrics" jacket turned out.
There are two length variations to this jacket. Although, I
would have preferred the longer version, I am glad I made the short style. The
weight of the additional fabrics would have made for a very heavy jacket and it
would not have had the movement that was designed for the pattern.
The jacket pattern is unlined but I added a lining to finish the inside.
All the seams are finished, so it could be reversible.
Overall, I am very happy with the finished jacket. I had my doubts about the
wide bands and the bulk around the neck but once on, it drapes nicely.
I think I will make the longer version in silk shantung next time.
That's just lovely. It would look equally good with jeans or a long skirt or over a LBD. You're very good with that old sewing machine!
