My very first project with the new sewing machine.
I decided on the Bernina and I am not sure how I have lived my entire life without stitch number 21.
Stitch number 21 is the basting stitch.
I know what you are thinking how can a basting stitch be that great.
It is mind blowing is what it is.
It stitches a long baste then a small tack stitch, then the long baste.
A very secure baste that is also easy to remove.
I did not even know about stitch 21 when I was test driving machines but it could have been possibly enough on it's own to make me choose the Bernina 830.
So far, I am very happy with the sewing machine.
I have only had it two days but I found it very easy to learn.
My first project that I started and finished today, is this cushion cover.
It is made using vintage fabrics and I added side flaps to hold things like scissors, fray check, small rulers and a seam ripper.
The cushion is one of those "seen on TV", the Forever Comfy from Target.
Next up, I am going to make a cover to go over the back with a pocket on the back to hold a sewing pattern and instructions.
