I appreciate all the enthusiastic response for the fantasy altered book class. One of my favorite things about this class is that this project takes only minimal supplies and most of them you probably already have. AND it is also a good recycle project using old books and magazines. Can it get any better, it sure can because at the end of this class you will have your own unique altered book, from trash to treasure.
So here is the supply list for those who have asked and for those of you who are curious
-book for altering
-magazines for cutting up
-any other images you would like to use
-glue either Mod Podge or white glue
-scissors
-wax paper
-foam brush
-old credit card **optional
-ruler or straight edge for ripping pages **optional
-tape (clear packing tape or duct tape)
-small matchbox (the small one that measures 1 1/2" by 2")
-xacto knife or box cutter **optional
-bead
-needle for attaching bead to matchbox
-thin cord, ribbon or string
-foam tape **optional
-paper napkin **optional
and in other crafty news, a few pages were made today for the fabric journal
I would never think of putting up a blog post without any pictures to look at
or how about a couple of pictures to look at
tonight, I will do some hand stitching on the old quilt square on the left
did you notice the frog on the branch in the upper right corner on this piece of fabric
now how cute is that!!
Hi. . .I am trying to use Modge Podge with the altered books I am making. It always sticks. None the less I love the feel of the pages when I am done. Is there anyway to figure out how to get beyond that? I used a simple clear acrylic spray my art store suggested, the book smelled of chemicals when I was done. Mmmmm? Any ideas?

Such a lovely fabric book- I'm thinking that instead of the class, I'll buy a book from your shoppe. I'd like to think of it as an $18 discount. Maybe a class a little later if you offer another one, but I've been really eyeing that vintage 70's journal.

I just signed up for the class! I love anything that doesn't take a lot of extra supplies and allows me to use up things I already have. Can't wait to get started!
