The flotsam and jetsam daily journal has been one of my favorite journals so far. I think it is because of all the crazy layers and the way the pages interact with each other.
See the word "cherry" that is peaking out of the top of the page, that is from the page that I was working on today.
next page even more of the words can be seen at the top, revealing just a portion of what is on the following page
today's page that is still in the works
a progressive interactive layered scavenger hunting journal
nah, I will just keep calling it flotsam and jetsam, far easier.
Thanks for all the great emails you have been sending about the security envelopes I have been using in my journals.
Most of the security envelopes were bound in the journal when I made it back in March but they can easily be added to your pages as inclusions as pockets to hold tags, notes and pieces of paper.
-carefully open envelope at seams so it will lie flat
-re-fold the envelope so the inside pattern in now on the outside
-glue a text paper or pattern paper to the inside back of the envelope (the clear glassine part of the envelope should be in the front, so anything you put in this pocket will show through)
-sew, glue or tape ends of the envelope, leaving the top open so it can be used as a pocket
-stitch, staple, glue or tape security envelope pocket to the page (in this example, I just stitched the left side so it can be lifted and the page underneath it can still be viewed
-try embellishing the envelope with rub on transfers like I did on this one (Basic Grey). I centered the transfer so part of it will fall on the glassine part of this pocket. It just adds another layer.
-I also rubber stamped a straight pin in the upper right corner and then embossed it with silver embossing powder.
a really neat and recycled type thing you can do with your journal. Nothing goes to waste.
