While not a perfect baguette, they tasted good. I still need to work on shaping and not falling asleep during the second proofing. So, I am not sure I can cross off baguettes yet as I work my way through Ciril Hitz's "Baking Artisan Bread".

It looks perfect-I have not tried this bread yet-to bake I mean...Lovely photos..

Those look pretty darn much like eurpean french baguettes to me.

Aaawww, they do look good indeed!!! It's so hard to make (or buy) the 'real' French ones... at least overhere I haven't found the right bakery yet. Your post makes me wanna hop in the car and hit the road to France right now... if only to buy baquettes!
