a quick and easy little vest in a silk chiffon snakeskin print
floaty and light as a feather
I used this McCalls pattern 0021 from 1989. This pattern appears to be a giveaway sample from McCalls. I found mine on etsy. What I like about this pattern is that it has several variations and is easy to redesign the pattern. It is unlined and quick to make.
I lowered the neckline 3" and redrafted the front facing to match the new neckline.
The silk chiffon is nice in the vest to add a soft floaty layer, perfect for layering and dressing up a casual shirt when it's hot and humid. I will certainly make this vest again in some other silks. This would be an easy pattern to alter by making the sides longer for a lagenlook vest, something that I am definitely going to try.
