A sweater jacket that was made from repurposed wool sweaters.
Five different sweaters that I felted the wool by washing in hot water and drying on high heat.
The sweaters were then cut apart and repieced into fabric.
The buttons are also salvaged and I had only three, five would have been better.
Maybe, I will dig around the button box and look for a couple more, they don't really need to match.
Perfect for damp chilly mornings walking the dog
Even the pattern is recycled as I found it at a thrift store. I like how someone had used the pattern and added notes. I added a few notes too.
A quick easy project, this jacket went together fast especially since it is unlined.
This pattern worked well for the dense felted wool. I skipped the back darts and don't mind the slight flare in the back. The front darts worked fine and I am still thinking about adding pockets.
And best of all a cheap project that recycled unwearable sweaters.
Dear PVD. You are killing me.
