Without a doubt my favorite kitchen item is my antique waffle iron.
A well seasoned cast iron is a thing of beauty and the cute chicken on the lid doesn't hurt either.
I use my waffle iron so much it sits permanetly on my stove.
Dinner tonight is a Dill Halvarti, pickled jalapeno on white bread.
Comfort food.
I have a pinterest board dedicated to waffling
Waffle is a verb in my house.
I am declaring the coming new year the Year of The Waffle, expect to see more wafflizing as I waffle my way through 2014.
My sons ate whole wheat waffles for breakfast every day back in the eighties from a vintage electric waffle iron. We often had cornbread waffles too. Nowadays we don't eat grains. I miss my waffles.

I waffle but never thought to do THAT! My creativity stops at adding things like pumpkin or applesauce so I really need to branch out. Gotta try the bread/cheese/pepper thing, that looks great! And what a gorgeous waffle iron. I've never even seen one like that.
