the last pages of the Alice Altered Book maybe I should have called the book "Recycled Alice" an old discarded library book, magazine pictures and other old book recycled images the last finish to the book was clipping in movie tickets from "Alice". The movie was fun and I enjoyed it. The cover, I left rather plain with just a couple of images, one that wraps around the spine and a couple of tiny mice.
It's been a delightful voyage Godspeed and fair thee well 'til we meet again, Alice.
Thanks for all the well wishes. How good am I feeling? So good that there are two blog posts for today. That's how good!
another page set in the "Down the Rabbit Hole" altered book with just two more sets, this book is winding down I have had so much fun with it, that there may be a second book in the making
There are several journals and books that I work on at one time and this week, I added another to the mix.
Sometimes, I just need a break from whatever I am working on. For me, altered books are a kind of palette cleanser. This past week there was too much busy-ness going on to focus on any project. Gluing, cutting and moving images around was a perfect solution. I was able to get several pages started while working on meals. There was no particular theme for this book when I first started it but the pages took on an Alice in Wonderland theme. The book I tore apart had several cute bunny images and they found their way back into the book. With a four page sets left to this book, I hope to finish it next week. This altered book has few pages with only 10 page sets total. I may use this as a journal or make up a little story to write in it. After the pages are built, I will come back and add in more details. Another ongoing journal is a daily sketch type book that I usually don't share many of it's pages. It is a book where I doodle while talking on the phone and play around with ink and pencil drawings. Yesterday during a phone consult for a company I used to work for, I was able to get in quite a bit of doodling. Lucky for me, I wasn't paying for that long distance phone call. Doodling is my equivalent of saying "Uh Huh, Uh Huh".
