I really love this piece of hand dyed fabric but wasn't sure how to cut it up and use it. Since I didn't seem to be able to cut into it, I decided to quilt it as a whole cloth quilt.

The quilting gave the fabric a nice texture and movement. The quilting is a gentle spiral with lines spaced 1/4" apart. Yes, a 1/4" - that's a lot of quilting. For me, the quilting isn't finished until the piece can stand up on it's own in the corner.
I used Superior Threads So Fine in a light lavender, it was perfect. Superior Threads is my favorite brand of thread from quilting to piecing. I never have any problems with it and their selection of weights and colors is amazing.
Today, I added more hand dyed fabric to the Tuscan Rose web site.
